I feel grateful and terribly sad to have read this book. Grateful for all my queer ancestors that made my life today possible, and terribly sad about the fact that it all happened. Rebecca did a great job at conveying how it was: living in times when AIDS was a death sentence, and a political vehicle to hate queer people. Her way of writing made it so easy to empathise, to cry with them. This really happened. And it still does, only just out of sight… Thank you Rebecca.
