We Crashed (AppleTV)

A tv series that tells the saga of the rise and fall of Wework. It contains big entertainment and many lessons. The most essential lesson is that overconfidence and an extreme form of ‘fake it t'ill you make it’ always leads to disasterous outcomes. Much schadenfreude ensues.

The Book of Five Rings

A classic text on martial arts, startegy, and life philosophy written by Miyamoto Musashi in 1645. Musashi is one of the most famous samurai warriors of Japan winning over 61 sword duels. It's a read for a much wider audience than martial artists and I find it a great short read to ground yourself by absorbing the perspective of someone who faced mortal dangers many times.

Guy Kawasaki on Venture Capital

Guy Kawasaki on Venture Capital: a bit dated, but still very fundamental lessons to be learned here. Guy Kawasaki (software evangelist of Apple, turned VC) tells entrepreneurs what VCs are looking for and how to make a great pitch deck. More importantly, the simplicity of the pitch that Kawasaki proposes, forces any business leader to think about the true fundamentals of their company. Added bonus he is a great and funny presenter. Be sure to watch part 2 and 3 also.
