The Midnight Library, Matt Haig

This book was handed to me by a friend while we were travelling on the train, to read just as entertainment for an in between moment. I noticed that I started to read as fast as I could because I knew I would have to give the book back when we arrived at our destination. I love the multiverse jumping, the lessons on existentialistic feelings and regret that everyone encounters in life. This book feels a bit like a guilty pleasure to me because of the 'young adult' feel of the genre, but I just needed to read it and it inspired me.

Heart Berries, Terese Marie Mailhot

A bitter sweet memoir of Terese Marie Mailhot I borrowed from a dear friend who underlined words and sentences for herself to remember. It was touching to read such a personal memoir in combination with the underlined sentences of my friend. I thought the memoir was a bit chaotic, I didn't follow the time lines very well. But it didn't really matter because the messiness poetically contributed to the describing of her feelings and memories. It's only 126 pages thin so maybe i should have read it in one breath like Kae Tempest felt like they did... they wrote: "I loved it... Powerfully written, intricately executed. I felt like I read the whole thing in one breath"

All the Beauty and the Bloodshed
